Blue September is an international awareness campaign focused on prostate cancer and the men who live with it, along with the families and communities who support them. Originating in Australia, the campaign now runs in New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, allowing each country to deliver locally tailored messaging while sharing a common visual identity built around the deep navy blue and warm orange colour scheme.
Men are statistically less likely than women to seek medical advice when something feels wrong, and Blue September exists to help close that gap. By encouraging open conversation about prostate cancer, symptoms, testing and treatment, the campaign aims to make it easier for men to ask questions, speak with their doctors and support one another. The broader goal is simple: earlier awareness and earlier conversations, which in turn support earlier diagnosis.
Families play an important role in the campaign, because prostate cancer affects partners, parents, siblings and friends as well as the man diagnosed. Blue September provides materials and guidance that relatives can use to start supportive conversations, understand what to expect during treatment, and offer practical assistance when someone is unwell. Messaging is framed in a way that invites families to be involved early rather than waiting until a situation becomes urgent.
Because the campaign operates across several countries, the site asks visitors to choose their region before exploring content. Each country page carries its own events, partners, resources and contact points, so information is relevant to where a reader actually lives. Behind the campaign sits a network of health organisations, charities, corporate supporters and community groups who help raise awareness throughout September and beyond, funding research, support services and public education.
Whether you want general information about the campaign, need help understanding prostate health, are planning a workplace or community fundraiser, or are looking for ways to support the cause, there are dedicated routes for enquiries. The contact area separates general questions from media and public relations requests so that each enquiry reaches the right part of the team quickly. Engaging with Blue September helps keep the conversation about prostate cancer visible, ordinary and free of stigma.
Blue September faces up to men's cancers, specifically prostate cancer. Donations help fund awareness campaigns, support services and research.
